HavCon Engineering is currently looking for qualified Workshop Boilermaker Welders for an immediate start in our workshop in Harvey, WA.

These are casual roles to start with, with the possibility of permanent ongoing for the right candidates.

Pay rates for this role are flat rates $40 per hour Monday - Saturday and $45 per hour on Sunday.

($2 extra per hour for night shift)


Requirements of the role:

•    Must reside within 100km of Harvey WA (or willing to relocate prior to starting the role)

•    Available for rotating Day and Night Shifts
•    Shift duration from 8 hours - 12 hours
•    Rostered Weekend Work
•    Site Work
•    Ability to travel away for work as required

Essential Criteria:


•    Trade Qualified

•    Pipe welding and TIG experience will be advantageous

TA / All Rounder

We are currently seeking a Trades Assistant / All Rounder for a permanent ongoing role, with an immediate start, within our Harvey Workshop.

Rates are flat rates of $33 per hour Monday – Saturday and $40 on Sunday

Minimum work hours are 6am – 4pm Monday - Friday

Duties required for the role:

  • Workshop cleaning and maintenance

  • Cleaning of company fleet vehicles

  • Yard maintenance

  • Crane operating – both in the yard and on site jobs

  • Forklift operating

  • Transport duties – various size vehicles and loads

  • Checking off goods received with accuracy and efficiency

  • Assisting trades in the workshop as required

  • Basic maintenance on workshop equipment

  • Daily / weekly / monthly Pre-starts and inspections on vehicles and equipment

  • Accurately completing all required paperwork for the role

  • Working as part of a team

  • Be part of a rotating weekend roster for maintenance and cleaning work


To be considered for this role the following are essential:

  • A minimum of 5years in an all rounder type role covering the above duties

  • Be located within 100km radius of Harvey, Western Australia (or willing to relocate prior to starting the role)

  • Demonstrated commitment to occupational health and safety, with safe work practices in a workshop.

  • Ability to provide pre employment Drug & Alcohol screen, and comply with ongoing Drug & Alcohol policy.

  • HR Drivers Licence

  • CN Crane ticket

  • Basic Rigging & Basic Dogging (as a minimum)

The following are advantageous:

  • Experience in operating 25t Franna Cranes or similar sizes, in various environments

Experienced Steel Fabrication Estimator

Havcon Engineering is a steel fabrication company located in the town of Harvey Western Australia providing steel fabrication and shut down services to a range of clientele located locally and within the mining sector.

We are currently seeking an Experienced Steel Fabrication Estimator with a trade qualification background or structural / mechanical engineer with 4 or more years’ experience estimating for a fabrication workshop to join our growing team.

The role is diverse and entails estimating /quoting on small /medium to large fabrication jobs such as platforms, chutes, pipe spooling & site installation etc. as well as onsite site measuring and liaising with clientele.

Main Responsibilities and Skills required for the role to be considered will be:

  • Boilermaker/welder Trade Qualification
    OR

  • Structural / Mechanical engineer with 4 or more years’ experience estimating for a fabrication workshop.

  • Have a considerable amount of experience in plate and structural fabrication  & Fixed and Mobile Plant

  • A good grounding in basic mathematics

  • Can do attitude and able to work unsupervised

  • Is flexible and has the ability to adapt quickly to a changing environment

  • Be driven and enthusiastic within the role

  • Be efficient and possess established time management/prioritisation skills to meet deadlines and be willing to work long hours when required.

  • Ability to work weekends as required

  • Excellent planning and organizational skills

  • A practical approach to problem solving

  • Strong attention to detail and high level of pride in work quality is essential

  • A keen eye for detail to review and accurately interpret data from drawings (engineering or shop detail drawings) to assemble documentation for quoting

  • Build and maintain key business relationships with existing and new clientele for the expansion and development of new business.

  • Liaise with the design and fabrication team to assist with management of projects from inception through to delivery.

  • Upon award of a tender, prepare and execute required budgeting and purchasing information.

  • Work closely with clients to understand their requirements and propose custom solutions.

  • Have the ability and high understanding to use Excel and Word programs.

Experienced Draftsperson/Steel Detailer

HavCon Engineering is a leading provider for Fabrication, Maintenance and Construction services supporting the mining and industrial sectors in Western Australia. 


Due to increasing demand, we are looking for a Draftsperson to join our growing team, based in Harvey, Western Australia for an immediate start.

About the Role:    

                         

Working closely with a team, you will be responsible for:

  • Liaising with Clients and Suppliers to finalise designs and drawings.

  • Measure and detail existing components and structures and produce legible sketches for reproduction into Solidworks

  • Minimum hours required will be 6am – 4pm Monday – Friday, ability to work overtime as required.

  • Salary will be negotiated dependent on knowledge and experience at interview stage.

Main responsibilities and skills required to be considered for the role:

  • Solidworks or Inventor Experience

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience with Drafting for Steel Fabrication

  • Broad experience using sheet metal, weldments, and general 3D modelling in Solidworks or Inventor (preferably in the mining industry)

  • Competent with Microsoft Office

  • Be Flexible and adaptable

  • Willing to work overtime as required

  • As the position is based in Harvey, Western Australia, the successful applicant must live within a 100km radius.

  • Experience in drafting to AS1100 is desirable

Shutdown Boilermakers

HavCon Engineering require suitably skilled and experienced boilermakers for scheduled fixed plant shutdown work.


The shifts are 12-13 hours, day and night shifts.


Essential Criteria:


•    Australian Trade Qualification
•    Manual Drivers Licence
•    Nationally Recognised Working at Heights (current within 2 years)
•    Nationally Recognised Confined Space (current within 2 years)
•    Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test
•    Previous shutdown experience is highly advantageous

Desirable Criteria:


•    EWP Ticket
•    Rigging / Dogging

What you need to know:

  • Camp accommodation and meals provided

  • 12 Hour Shifts

  • Day & Night shifts

  • Shutdowns are held once a month

  • Shutdown duration varies from 1-5 days on the tools

  • FIFO

Shutdown Mechanical Fitters

Havcon Engineering provides maintenance, breakdown and shutdown services to the mining industry of Western Australia. We are currently seeking experienced high-quality Mechanical Fitters with previous mining experience to join our shutdown team.

The role involves fixed plant maintenance including Conveyor roller change-out, pulley change-out, Maintenance and change-out of gearboxes, exciters, jaw crushers and Gyrocone Crusher and general mechanical maintenance and servicing.

Essential Criteria:

  • Australian Recognised trade certificate

  • Hold a current Manual Drivers licence

  • Have own reliable transport

  • Ability to provide a clean Drug & Alcohol test (at your own cost)

  • Current (within 2 years) Nationally accredited Working at Heights (RIIWHS204D)
