Workshop Boilermakers

HavCon Engineering is currently looking for qualified Workshop Boilermaker Welders for an immediate start in our workshop in Harvey, WA.

These are casual roles to start with, with the possibility of permanent ongoing for the right candidates.

Pay rates for this role are flat rates $45-$50 per hour with an additional $2 per hour for night shift and $5 per hour for Sunday work.


Requirements of the role:

•    Must reside within 100km of Harvey WA (or willing to relocate prior to starting the role)

•    Available for rotating Day and Night Shifts
•    Shift duration from 8 hours - 12 hours
•    Rostered Weekend Work
•    Site Work
•    Ability to travel away for work as required

Essential Criteria:


•    Trade Qualified
•    High degree of attention to detail

•    Confined Space (current within 2 years)

•    Working at Heights (current within 2 years)
•    Reliable & Punctual
•    Fabrication experience
•    Pipe welding and TIG experience will be advantageous
•    Reliable transport
•    Flexibility to be able to work away when required
•    Ability to pass ongoing Drug & Alcohol Testing

•    Forklift Licence

•    Rigging

•    Dogging

Crane Operator - All Rounder

HavCon Engineering is currently seeking a Crane Operator / All Rounder to join our rapidly growing team. This is a permanent ongoing role, with an immediate start, based from our Harvey Workshop.


Minimum work hours are 6am – 4pm Monday - Friday

Duties required for the role:

  • Crane operating – both in the yard and on site jobs

  • Rigging / Dogging

  • Workshop cleaning and maintenance

  • Cleaning of company fleet vehicles

  • Yard maintenance

  • Forklift operating

  • Checking off goods received with accuracy and efficiency

  • Assisting trades in the workshop as required

  • Basic maintenance on workshop equipment

  • Daily / weekly / monthly Prestarts and inspections on vehicles and equipment

  • Accurately completing all required paperwork for the role

  • Working as part of a team

  • Be part of a rotating weekend roster for maintenance and cleaning work


To be considered for this role the following are essential:

  • Be located within 100km radius of Harvey, Western Australia (or willing to relocate prior to starting the role)

  • Demonstrated commitment to occupational health and safety, with safe work practices in a workshop.

  • Ability to comply with ongoing Drug & Alcohol policy.

  • HR Drivers License

  • CN Crane ticket

  • Basic Rigging & Basic Dogging (as a minimum)

  • Forklift License

The following are advantageous:

  • Experience in operating 25t Franna Cranes or similar sizes, in various environments

  • Electrical Test and Tag ticket

  • Confined Space (current within 2 years)

  • Working at Heights (current within 2 years)

Truck Driver - All Rounder

HavCon Engineering is currently seeking a Truck Driver All Rounder for a permanent ongoing role, with an immediate start, within our Harvey Workshop.

  • Daily / weekly / monthly Pre-starts and inspections on vehicles and equipment

  • Accurately completing all required paperwork for the role

  • Working as part of a team

Shutdown Boilermakers

HavCon Engineering require suitably skilled and experienced boilermakers for scheduled fixed plant shutdown work.


The shifts are 12-13 hours, day and night shifts.


Essential Criteria:


•    Australian Trade Qualification
•    Manual Drivers Licence
•    Nationally Recognised Working at Heights (current within 2 years)
•    Nationally Recognised Confined Space (current within 2 years)
•    Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test
•    Previous shutdown experience is highly advantageous

Desirable Criteria:


•    EWP Ticket
•    Rigging / Dogging

What you need to know:

  • Camp accommodation and meals provided

  • 12 Hour Shifts

  • Day & Night shifts

  • Shutdowns are held once a month

  • Shutdown duration varies from 1-5 days on the tools

  • FIFO

All successful applicants will be required to complete a once off 3F & 4F weld test and basic fabrication test as well as a face to face interview in our workshop in Harvey, Western Australia.

Shutdown Mechanical Fitters

Havcon Engineering provides maintenance, breakdown and shutdown services to the mining industry of Western Australia. We are currently seeking experienced high-quality Mechanical Fitters with previous mining experience to join our shutdown team.

The role involves fixed plant maintenance including Conveyor roller change-out, pulley change-out, Maintenance and change-out of gearboxes, exciters, jaw crushers and Gyrocone Crusher and general mechanical maintenance and servicing.

Essential Criteria:

  • Australian Recognised trade certificate

  • Hold a current Manual Drivers licence

  • Have own reliable transport

  • Ability to provide a clean Drug & Alcohol test (at your own cost)

  • Current (within 2 years) Nationally accredited Working at Heights (RIIWHS204D)

  • Current (within 2 years) Nationally accredited Confined Space (RIIWHS202D)

  • Have your own hand tools relevant for site work

  • Be punctual and reliable with a strong focus on safety

  • Site Shutdown Experience

  • Positive work attitude and desire to work hard

  • Minimum 4 years post trade experience

  • Legal rights to work in Australi
